Trailer Recommendation? P-18

Postby emenskl » Tue Jun 10, 2014 8:31 am

My trailer is showing signs of its age (about 1985). It is not the normal one for a P-18, rather something bigger and stronger. It came with the boat about 15 years ago. Have been doing some fixes, which makes it OK to get to and from a local ramp. But, will have to bite the bullet sometime and replace it. Any recommendations?

Hi Ken
I have an EZ Loader TEZR 23-25/27 with adjustable rollers for The Toybox.
http://www.ezloader.com/
It tows like a dream but I have learned a lot since the boat got to Florida.
Mainly, don't buy a galvanized trailer for boats near salt water...stay with painted or aluminum.
The rollers, while making the boat easier to launch and retrieve; cause denting in the hull and are
a nightmare for maintenance [ rust primarily ].
additionally:
Spec Sure Lube axles
Inquire about the specs of the bushings on the leaf springs...bronze with grease zerks are nice.
Disk brakes
LED lighting
